Extensive independent research has determined that polycarbonate lenses provide significantly more protection than conventional glass or plastic (CR39) lenses. Armada Optical Services, Inc highly recommends the use of polycarbonate lenses in safety prescription eyewear whenever possible. Polycarbonate lenses are lighter and thinner that traditional plastic lenses. At times, the prescription requires a different material for medical or job related reasons (must be approved in writing by company safety representative).

Armada Optical offers Non-Conductive Rx Safety Goggles for users needing protection against chemical splashes or dust (inks, solvents sanding particles). Armada offers full-seal protection with goggles from 3M, OnGuard and Uvex by Honeywell. All can accommodate prescription lenses.
